Desalination and water treatment manufacturer for Bahrain

AFG manufactures seawater and brackish RO, softening, disinfection and reuse systems for industry and hospitality in Bahrain. AFG supplies Bahrain from its UAE office; quotes and project enquiries are handled by AFG Dubai.

Water in Bahrain: an island with two sources

As an island country, Bahrain has always balanced two sources: groundwater from beneath the islands and seawater all around them. Groundwater has become more saline over time and needs treatment for most uses, while seawater is plentiful but warm and salty, and calls for a full SWRO plant with strong pre-treatment.

Hotels and hospitality developments, many on reclaimed land along the shore, need dependable supply, good water in storage and ways to reuse water. Industry needs process, cooling and boiler water of the right quality and treatment of the effluent it produces.

On a small island, space is often tight, so compact, well-organised plant rooms matter.

Older buildings often have tanks and pipework that were not designed for today's demand, so storage, disinfection and pressure arrangements are reviewed together whenever treatment is added. Industrial users, from heavy to light manufacturing, need cooling and process water of steady quality, and their effluent has to be treated before it reaches the sea.

How a Bahrain project works

01

Enquiry

AFG Dubai takes the brief: source, capacity, analysis and space available.

02

Compact design

AFG engineers a layout that fits the plant room or site footprint.

03

Manufacturing

The system is built and checked at the AFG factory in Antalya, Türkiye.

04

Commissioning and support

FAQ

Questions buyers ask

Should a Bahrain site treat groundwater or seawater?

Both are options. Brackish groundwater needs less energy to desalinate but its quality can change, while seawater is constant in supply but needs SWRO. The choice depends on the analyses, the demand and whether a reliable well is available.

Can an SWRO plant fit a tight plant room?

AFG lays out skid-mounted systems around the available footprint, and pre-treatment and storage can be split between rooms or levels. Space is reviewed at the start of the design.

What does a Bahrain hotel typically need?

Usually filtration and disinfection of stored water, softening for laundries and kitchens, and greywater or wastewater treatment for reuse. Waterfront resorts may add their own SWRO supply.

Do you supply industrial water treatment in Bahrain?

Yes. AFG manufactures RO, demineralisation, EDI, softening and filtration for process and boiler water, and wastewater treatment for effluent.

How does AFG supply Bahrain?

AFG supplies Bahrain from its UAE office; quotes and project enquiries are handled by AFG Dubai. Systems are manufactured in Antalya, Türkiye, and shipped to Bahrain.

Can a Bahrain hotel cut fresh water use with reuse?

Reusing treated greywater for toilet flushing and irrigation lowers the fresh water the hotel buys or produces. The saving depends on how much greywater the guest rooms and laundry produce and how much non-potable demand there is to absorb it. A short water balance at the start shows what is achievable.
