FAQ

Questions buyers ask

What does a water softener do?

A softener removes calcium and magnesium hardness by ion exchange, swapping them for sodium on a resin bed. The resin is regenerated with brine. Soft water protects boilers, cooling towers, laundries and RO units from scale, and reduces energy and chemical use.

Which softener series does AFG manufacture?

Four series: ZKYS time-controlled, DKYS flow-controlled, TYS tandem and triplex for continuous supply, and ETYS with surface piping for larger duties. The choice depends on how steady your consumption is and whether soft water must be available without any break during regeneration.

How much salt and maintenance does a softener need?

Salt use depends on the inlet hardness and the volume treated, which is why softeners are sized from a water analysis. Routine work is keeping the brine tank filled and checking outlet hardness. Resin lasts many years and AFG supplies replacement softening resin.

What softening projects are shown on the site?

AFG supplied softening for a 5-star hotel in Fethiye together with sand and activated carbon filtration, at 5,000 m³/day, and a 3,000 m³/day softening system for a laundry plant in Antalya. Both are listed with the other references on the projects page, drawn to one scale. Softening for a new site is sized from its own hardness and daily volume.
