Questions buyers ask
What is greywater?
Greywater is lightly used water from showers, basins and laundry. It does not include toilet waste. Treated on site, it can be reused, which cuts fresh water consumption and cost. Because it is far less polluted than wastewater, it needs simpler treatment to reach reuse quality.
What can treated greywater be used for?
Common uses are toilet flushing, landscape irrigation and some cooling or washing duties. The permitted uses and the quality required depend on local regulations, which shape the design of the treatment. Treated greywater is kept in its own pipework and tanks, separate from the drinking water supply.
How is greywater treated?
A typical system screens and filters the water, treats it biologically or physically to remove organics, and disinfects it before storage and reuse. The steps are chosen from the source, the volume and the reuse quality, with automation so the system runs with little attention.
Which buildings suit greywater recovery?
Sites with a lot of shower and laundry water, such as hotels, resorts, residential buildings and laundries. Tell us the daily greywater volume and the planned reuse through the quote form. Buildings in design are the easiest to equip, but existing sites can often be adapted too.
