Reverse osmosis and water treatment manufacturer for Kuwait
AFG manufactures RO, demineralisation, softening and well water treatment systems for Kuwaiti industry, buildings and farms. AFG supplies Kuwait from its UAE office; quotes and project enquiries are handled by AFG Dubai.
Water in Kuwait: what the plant has to deal with
Kuwait has no rivers and very little natural fresh water, so daily life and industry depend heavily on treated water. That makes every cubic metre valuable and puts the focus on using water well: treating it to the right quality for each use, and recovering it where possible.
Brackish groundwater is the other major source, used for irrigation, landscaping and some industrial duties. It is too saline and hard for most uses as it comes out of the well, and its quality differs from one field to another.
Industrial users need water that matches their process: low in hardness for boilers and cooling, very pure for some production steps, and treated again before it is discharged.
Summer heat adds to the load. Cooling towers run hard for much of the year, evaporating water and concentrating salts, so make-up water treatment and blowdown control have a direct effect on water use and on the life of the equipment.
Systems we build for Kuwait
Where AFG systems fit in Kuwait
Industry
Process, boiler and cooling water, and treatment of what the plant discharges.
Farms
Brackish well RO and boron control for irrigation.
Commercial and residential buildings
Softening, filtration and disinfection of stored water.
Water reuse
Recovery of wastewater and greywater for non-potable duties.
How a Kuwait project works
AFG Dubai receives the enquiry and goes through the water source, the analysis and the capacity with you. AFG engineers the system and manufactures it in Antalya, where it is tested before shipping to Kuwait. Installation and commissioning follow, with operator training, and spare parts and consumables are coordinated through the UAE office afterwards.

Questions buyers ask
What can brackish groundwater be used for after treatment?
After RO, brackish water can serve irrigation, landscaping, cooling and many process duties, and with further treatment, other uses. The permeate quality and any blending are set by the end use and the well analysis.
Which water treatment does a Kuwaiti factory typically need?
Most need softening or RO for boiler and cooling make-up, and some need demineralised or EDI water for production. Many also need effluent treatment. The combination comes from the process requirements and the source water.
How does demineralisation differ from RO?
RO removes most dissolved salts with membranes and suits large volumes. Demineralisation uses ion-exchange resin to reach very low conductivity. They are often combined, with RO first and demineralisation or EDI as polishing.
Can farm wells with high boron be treated?
Yes. Boron passes standard RO more easily than most salts, so a second RO pass or a boron-selective resin is added when the crop needs low boron. The well analysis and the crop decide the route.
Who do I contact for a project in Kuwait?

Can cooling tower blowdown be reduced?
Better make-up water lets a cooling tower run at higher cycles of concentration, which means less blowdown and less fresh water. Softening or RO on the make-up line, plus filtration of the circulating water, are the usual tools. The right target depends on the tower and the water chemistry.
