Reverse osmosis and desalination manufacturer for Oman
AFG manufactures seawater RO, well water treatment and RO systems for Oman's coastal industry, ports and inland farms. AFG supplies Oman from its UAE office; quotes and project enquiries are handled by AFG Dubai.
Water in Oman: coast and interior
Oman's coastline runs along the Gulf of Oman and the Arabian Sea, and many towns, ports and industrial areas sit close to the water. For them, seawater RO is often the practical source, with intake conditions that change with the season and the open sea.
Inland, in the valleys and plains between the mountains and the desert, wells are the main source. Groundwater there can be brackish and hard, and some aquifers carry iron and manganese. Traditional farming and newer greenhouses both need water with salinity and boron their crops can tolerate.
Port and industrial zones add process, cooling and boiler water needs, and the effluent from production. Remote sites far from the network also need storage and simple operation, so systems are laid out for easy maintenance by a small team.
Where AFG systems fit in Oman

Seawater RO, process water and effluent treatment for coastal industry.
Agriculture
Brackish RO, boron control and filtration for farms and greenhouses.
Coastal hotels and communities
SWRO, storage and disinfection for coastal sites.
Inland facilities
Iron and manganese removal and RO for wells serving remote sites.
Systems we build for Oman
How an Oman project works
The enquiry goes to AFG Dubai with the source, the analysis and the demand. AFG engineers the plant around the worst-case water it will see and manufactures it in Antalya, then ships it to Oman. Commissioning and operator training take place on site, and spare parts and consumables are coordinated from the UAE office.

Questions buyers ask
Seawater or wells: which source should a coastal site in Oman use?
It depends on availability, quality and demand. Wells near the coast can turn saline over time, while seawater is constant in supply but needs SWRO. A comparison of the analyses and the long-term demand usually makes the choice clear.
Our inland well water stains everything orange. What is the cause?
Orange or brown staining usually points to iron, and black deposits to manganese. Both are removed by oxidation and filtration, which also protects any RO or irrigation equipment downstream. A water analysis confirms the levels.
Can a greenhouse in Oman use brackish well water?
With RO, yes. Brackish RO lowers salinity for the crop and can be blended with raw water. AFG has supplied RO with ultrafiltration for a banana greenhouse in Antalya, and each new system is sized from its own well.
What does a port or industrial zone plant need?
Typically SWRO or brackish RO for supply, softening or demineralisation for boilers and cooling, and wastewater treatment for effluent. The mix depends on the processes on site.

Does seawater differ along Oman's coastline?
Conditions vary along such a long coast, with seasonal changes in temperature and turbidity and different intake settings from one site to the next. An SWRO plant is designed from the analysis of the water at its own intake, with pre-treatment sized for the poorest conditions expected through the year.
