Questions buyers ask
How do I know my water has iron or manganese?
Typical signs are brown, orange or black staining, a metallic taste, cloudy water after standing and sediment in tanks and pipes. A water analysis confirms the concentrations and whether other contaminants are present. Iron and manganese often appear together with arsenic or hardness, which changes the treatment design.
How does iron and manganese removal work?
Dissolved iron and manganese are oxidised so they form particles, then filtered out on suitable media. The filters backwash automatically, and AFG plants use PLC control to run the oxidation, filtration and backwash steps. The oxidation method and filter media are chosen from the iron, manganese and pH values in the analysis.
What capacity is shown for this technology?
The Manisa municipal drinking water plant on this site treats 9,225 m³/day for arsenic, iron and manganese removal. Well water systems for smaller sites are sized from their own flow and analysis. The same oxidation and filtration principle scales from a single well to a municipal plant.
What maintenance does the plant need?
Operators check oxidant dosing, backwash cycles and outlet quality. Filter media is topped up or replaced over the years. Automation keeps most of the routine running without manual steps. AFG supplies filter media, dosing pumps and valves as spare parts for the plant.
